Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate argue why they should be included in WWE 2K19
The WWE recently took over the UK with this year’s United Kingdom Championship Tournament. The thrilling tournament from the Royal Albert Hall airs tonight and tomorrow (June 25 and 26) from 8pm UK time on the WWE Network.
‘The Bruiserweight’ Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate are the only two to have ever held the WWE United Kingdom Championship and both still early into their wrestling careers at 24 and 21-years-old respectively.
Ahead of the tournament, the two WWE NXT UK stars spoke to IGN and argued their personal cases for inclusion in the next WWE video game, WWE 2K19.
Bruiserweight Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate have argued why they should be in WWE 2K19
Dunne has been dominating the UK’s independent wrestling scene for a while and has held the WWE United Kingdom championship for an incredibly long time.
While he didn’t appear in last year’s WWE game, his championship title did – making his argument a fairly short and simple one: ‘I’ve held that UK title for well over a year. The Bruiserweight and the United Kingdom championship go hand in hand. That’s why I should be in the game.’
It was Tyler Bate who Dunne won the title from, the young Englishman won the first ever United Kingdom Championship Tournament at just 19-years-old. Bate is still very early into his wrestling career but already boasts an impressive list of achievements – all of which he was happy to bring up again for his own argument:
‘I was the first ever WWE UK champion, the youngest ever singles champion in WWE history and the NXT Match of the Year winner in 2017. Of course I should be in WWE 2K19, it’s an insult that I wasn’t even in it last year. They put my moves in it, they put the title in it but not me, it’s an insult.’
Before possibly being included in the video game, Bate will be hoping to add ever more silverware and records to his collection and as he and Trent Seven take on The Undisputed Era’s Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly for the NXT Tag Team Championships.
